Research Areas

I try to innovatively teach learning, cognition and instruction classes (including distance education), do research on collaborative educational technologies (especially writing tools), and promote a more learner-centered approach to instruction (while simultaneously addressing the important role of the instructor). You will find me in educational psychology as well as educational technology projects. I think learning should be an adventure and I want to be your tour guide. I also have an office in the Showers Building as I am President and Founder of CourseShare.com. I have done many talks around the world for college faculty, corporate trainers, and K-12 teachers on how to teach on the Web. Currently, I am also a Senior Research Consortium Fellow with the US Army Research Institute where I am helping research online learning; in particular, collaborative learning tools for Army Officer online training.
