Dollar Holler Rap

My sweetie knows a song.
It’s really kind of funny.
It’s all about coins –
And learning about money.

Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters
Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters

Now a Penny means 1.             (point 1)
And  a Nickel means 5.           (flash 5)
Dimes are worth 10.               (show 10)
And quarters twenty-five.     (hands

                                              make 25)

Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters
Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters

(Later in the year…. Coin exchange)
Five pennies in a nickel.
Two nickels in a dime.
Five nickels in a quarter.
You’ll know it everytime.

Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters
Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters

Penny, Penny

Penny, penny, easily spent -
Copper brown and worth one cent.

Nickel, Nickel, thick and fat.
It’s worth 5 cents – I know that.

Dime, dime, little and thin.
I remember – you’re worth 10.

Quarter, quarter, big and bold.
It’s worth 25 – I am told!

Another Version:  Penny, Penny
Penny, penny, easily spent -
Copper brown and worth one cent.

Nickel, Nickel, thick and fat.
It’s worth 5 cents – I know that.

Dime, dime, thin and small.
You’re 10 cents and that is all.
