Music Education Requirements (All-Grade Education Program)

This degree area enables you to teach Elementary, Middle School/Junior High or High School. Course requirements for this program are valid at IUB as reflected in the School of Education Bulletin. A 2.5 GPA in the content field and overall are required. The program consists of four components:

Note: There are currently three emphases in Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) degrees--choral, instrumental, and area majors.  Due to changes in teacher certification in the State of Indiana, a new curriculum is presently under review for implementation in the 2002/03 academic year.  As soon as the new curriculum is approved, it will be posted on the School of Music website.  Until then, the programs outlined below remain in place.
