— Honors College Director and Associate Director Become Deans

Lewis H. Miller Jr. and Julia Bondanella have been named dean and associate dean, respectively, of the Honors College, pending approval by the IU board of trustees. "The change of titles is consistent with the change of name, last year, to Honors College," Miller suggested. "The new designations further reinforce the centrality, reach, and prominence of the Honors College as an academic unit on the Bloomington campus." "This move," Bondanella commented, "will provide the Honors College with closer connections to the academic units whose participation in honors is essential to the quality of opportunities the university can offer to academically talented students. It will also give the administrators of the program a more prominent voice in campus affairs as well as the national honors movement." Posted August 22, 2001. |
