— Balancing Civil Liberties and National Security
"Balancing Civil Liberties and National Security" with Coleen RowleyColeen Rowley, a 20+-year veteran FBI agent, was one of three whistleblowers named by Time Magazine as People of the Year in 2002 for "speaking truth to power." In May of that year she had written a memo to the FBI director, criticizing the agency for failing to act on pre-9/11 warnings of terrorist activities and for not acknowledging, after 9/11, its mistakes. Her efforts contributed to the formation of the 9/11 commission. Coleen Rowley will also deliver a public lecture on Mon., Mar. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Woodburn 100.
