Currently in its eleventh year, RENT has become one of the longest
running
shows in the history of Broadway and has been an acclaimed success for
both critics and fans alike. Called a "breakthrough" by Time
magazine and "an exhilarating landmark" by The New York Times, it
has won numerous
awards, including the Pulitzer Prize and four Tony Awards.
Based on Puccini's classical opera La Bohème, this rock
opera
tackles
contemporary controversial topics set in New York City’s East Village. It
tells the story of a community of young artists struggling with, and
celebrating, the challenges and risks of love and life. Join us for this
national touring company performance at the IU Auditorium and a
post-performance curtain talk with a behind-the-scenes perspective.
