HHC Evening at the Opera: Don GiovanniWith a Pre-performance Talk by Opera Designer C.
David
Higgins Since its premier in 1787, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Don
Giovanni has remained one of the most popular operas of all time.
Widely regarded as "one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed,"
its depiction of the legendary Don Juan is renowned. The comic, yet
dramatic tale paints a picture of a heroic, seductive, unrepentant lady's
man who is confronted for his deceitful ways and is faced with a fiery
descent to hell if he refuses to change. Will he be condemned, or
repent? |
