"Working Supper" with International Security Expert Ross Babbage
- Wed., Sept. 27, 2006, 6-8 p.m.
- Harlos House, 1331 E. Tenth St.
- SIGN-UP REQUIRED
Join us for a look at the world's security concerns from a variety of
perspectives, including that of one of the United States' major allies.
Australian Ross Babbage has tackled international
security issues at his country's assistant secretary of defense, as deputy
chair of the Center for Strategic and Defense Studies at The Australian
National University, and as head of a major analytic division of the
Australian defense industries.
What are the most pressing issues challenging international security?
What are the sources of instability? Who prompts the greatest concern?
What sites of potential crisis are being overlooked? What are the limits
to the support Australia and other allied would give the United States as
it wages war on terrorism? As it seeks to establish democracy in Iraq and
Afghanistan? As it pursues its policies towards North Korea, Iran, and
China? In South America, Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia?
This program, which is co-sponsored by the Wells Scholars Program,
will give you an opportunity to tackle such issues with Mr. Babbage.
