On Friday, December 2, Professor Zuberi will give a public lecture, "On Professor W.E.B. Du Bois: the Savage Studies Civilization," from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Grand Hall

Tukufu Zuberi is a Professor of Sociology, Lasry Family Endowed Professor of Race Relations, and Director of the Center for Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Thicker Than Blood: How Racial Statistics Lie (2001), and Swing Low Sweet Chariot: The Mortality Cost of Colonizing Liberia in the Nineteenth Century (1995), and more than 40 scholarly articles. Zuberi is also co-host for the PBS program History Detectives, and is currently working on a PBS documentary on Africa.
