Assignment #7

During this implementation period, you will analyze the data chunks you created in assignment #6, assessing student progress and making revisions to your plan accordingly. For instance, you might try the same strategies with a different group, or use a different genre of text, or teach someone else how to implement the plan so that you can observe. You will then  implement the revised plan and continue to gather data.  Looking closely at the new data and assessing student performance, you will, finally, explain how you will proceed with the new knowledge and understandings you have gained from the action research project. This explanation is called your "action plan."

Due Date: See calendar.

Include the following information for Assignment # 7.

Part A: Summarize the changes to your plan.

After analyzing your data, write a short summary of the changes you are making to your plan.  You do not need to create another t-chart. You will implement the revised plan and gather data.

Part B: Reflect on the process.

Write a personal reflection describing your thoughts and experiences during the action research process.

Part C: Write an action plan.

Discuss the new knowledge and understandings you have gained from your action research project. Consider the following questions:

  • What changes might you make to your curriculum/assessment/instruction as a result of this project?

  • What are the pros and cons of each of those changes?

  • What will need to happen in order for each of those changes to take place?
