Inula Research Incentive Grant Report
Surveying Librarian Attitudes about Changes in Scholarly Communication, funded in 2005.
We used the $800 granted through InULA's Research Incentive Grant to conduct a survey of academic librarians regarding their opinions about their own and their institutions' involvement in open access. Specifically the funds paid for a part-time library science student employee to gather email addresses of librarians from 351 randomly selected academic libraries, two ipod nanos that were given away via random drawing of survey participants, and three flash drives for storing and transferring data regarding the survey.
The survey was carried out in July-August 2006 and the preliminary results presented at the Electronic Resources and Libraries Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on February 23, 2007. More extensive analysis will be presented at the Public Knowledge Project Conference in Vancouver, Canada in July 2007.
Respectfully submitted,
