Jen Riggs

Jen Riggs’ first trip to Canada was phenomenal by most standards. The Tipton, Indiana, native left her home in early May to begin an internship with the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, Canada. During her six-week unpaid internship, the IU Kokomo junior was part of a team that worked for a member of Parliament. Riggs conducted research, presented information, met with other members of Parliament, wrote letters to constituents, and helped her team in any way they needed her assistance.

The internship appealed to Riggs because it combined all of her academic interests. Riggs talks about her time working for Parliament and what it is like to meet Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin.
