Bowling Leagues
Each March, college bowling teams from around the country come together to compete in the regional sectionals held in four locations: Las Vegas, Chattanooga, Peoria, and and Allentown. The top four teams at each of the regional competitions will advance to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships held in El Paso, Texas on April 14-17, 2010. In order to compete in sectionals, schools must compete in college tournaments and conferences throughout the season in order to win a conference or gain a top-ranked position and advance to sectionals.
After finishing 34 out of 41 at the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic, February 20-21, the IU Women's Bowling Club solidified a position in the top 64 teams in the country and will be traveling to Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 12 to compete in sectionals. Brittany Hart, Brooke Edwards, Bethany HUfford, and Ashley Betz will be competing in individuals on Friday with the team competition beginning on Saturday. Teams competing at Chattanooga include Central Florida, Davenport, Florida State, Houston, Indiana, Lindenwood, Louisiana State, Michigan-Ann Arbor, Missouri Baptist, North Carolina State, Purdue, Rock Valley, Saginaw Valley State, Santa Fe, Urbana, and Virginia Tech.

The Women’s Team Focus is on Indiana University. The Hoosiers are a young team still learning the ropes, but they are looking to become more and more competitive as the season progresses. The squad, led by coach Nick Horishny, has its sights set on reaching sectionals and trying to make its first Intercollegiate Team Championships appearance since 1997.
