IMP Grants
Each IMP student is eligible for grant funding of up to $500 over the course of his or her IMP career to help defray expenses incurred in completing the degree. The funds can be used to cover an indispensable component of the program of study, costs incurred in completing the final project, or the cost of attending a professional conference. Grant applications are reviewed by the IMP Advisory Committee. Clear and detailed descriptions of your project and the necessity of your expenses stand the best chance of being funded. The committee generally will not approve grant requests for IU tuition and fees or for durable equipment such as computers. Please contact the IMP office if you have questions about preparing a grant request.
Application process and deadlines: To apply for an IMP grant, complete the form below and submit it to the IMP office. Please describe your funding needs in as much detail as possible. Students planning to graduate in May or August must apply by November 1 of the fall semester preceding graduation; students planning to graduate in December must apply by May 1 of the spring semester preceding graduation. Students whose grants are approved must submit original, itemized receipts to the IMP office in order to receive reimbursement; these receipts are due no later than the final project deadline in the student's final semester.
Back to topDevesh Shah Learning Experience Grants
The Devesh Shah Learning Experience Grants provide support for IMP students engaged in particularly noteworthy and deserving off-campus activities closely connected with their fields of study, including but not limited to internships and volunteer experiences. Although these funds are intended to help defray the costs associated with such experiences, their distribution is not dependent on the reimbursement of documented expenses.
Awards will be in the amount of $2,000 with a limit of one per student. Selection for awards will be competitive. The IMP grants committee will confer awards on students whose proposed experiences best meet the selection criteria, with no awards given in the absence of qualified candidates.
