Introduction to Interface Design: Mixed Model

model diagram

The mixed model for managing projects places a project manager at the head of a core in-house team, and simultaneously in the position of liaison to one or more outside contractors.
This model is best suited to projects when the in-house team is experienced and works either for new or for repetitive projects. This model allows in-house skills to be supplemented, and can allow the in-house team to form long-term partnerships with contractors who are willing to invest in understanding the organization's in-house processes and expectations.
