Classroom Assessment Techniques for Distance Education: Group Work Evaluation

Descriptions

Group-Work Evaluation forms are simple questionnaires used to collect feedback on students' reactions to cooperate learning (where students work in structured groups toward an agreed upon learning goal) and study groups. Group-Work Evaluations can help students and teachers see what is going well in learning groups, so that so that potentially destructive conflicts in groups can be discovered and defused.

Teaching Improvement

  • better uses of available technology (effective uses)
  • uses of appropriate strategies for distance education environment
  • provide more contact with students, accessibility
  • provide information about tailoring instructional activities to meet student's needs

Improving student learning

  • improve opportunities to ask questions

  • equally accessible from both sites
  • immediacy of use
  • adaptable to a wide range of learning situations
  • require minimal time investment of students/instructor
  • has continued use as learning tool for students, instructional resource for instructor.
