Procedural demonstration may involve materials and equipment of some kind it is essential that all students can see the demonstration clearly. The strategy is to direct students to make specific observations during the demonstration against a number of criteria or, even better, to have them generate their own criteria (which can be a very important intellectual task in its own right).
