Estonian Independence Day

On February 24, Estonian Independence Day will be celebrated at Indiana University in a commemorative event sponsored by the IU Baltic and Finnish Student Association, the Department of Central Eurasian Studies, the Baltic Studies Program and others. 

The Estonian Declaration of Independence, also known as the Manifesto to the Peoples of Estonia (Estonian: Manifest Eestimaa rahwastele), was the founding legal act that established the Republic of Estonia in1918. Its signing is celebrated on February 24, Estonian Independence Day.   The commemorative program and reception for this event is free and open to the public, and will be conducted in the IMU Club from 5:30 - 7:30 PM .  For more information, please email the Department of Central Eurasian Studies at kniggle@indiana.edu.
