Sigma Phi Beta

The Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi Beta Fraternity first colonized at Indiana University in the Fall of 2010. We offer a safe-zone for gay, transgendered, and allied college men within a heteronormative Greek organization.

Community Service:

The Beta Chapter at IU is committed to community service in Bloomington and throughout Indiana. Members are encouraged to complete at least 15 hours of community service each semester so they can ensure they are making a positive impact on their community. The Beta Chapter has worked with several organizations around Bloomington to accomplish this.

Every semester each brother completes on average 15 hours of volunteer work in addition to various fundraisers.  Here at IU we are committed to raising at the least $1000 per semester for various charities across Bloomington.

Brotherhood:

The members of the Beta Chapter have grown very close as they have grown the chapter from interest group to colony, and finally to chapter status. This close-knit group of brothers provides a strong support network for members and will set a great example for future pledge classes.
