Meet the Staff & Interns

I have the privilege of coordinating the GLBT Office here on campus. I work with some amazing people, including a group of students who teach and inspire me every day. As I think about what I enjoy most about working in this office, it would be the chance to help students realize their best selves. Year after year I am reminded how gifted today's college students are and with a little support I have the opportunity to encourage them to be honest, to help them with a class project, to advocate for themselves, indeed, to realize their dreams.
My job is varied in that I get to serve as a mentor, an educator, a counselor, and a friend. At times I write the letter of recommendation that helps someone land a job. It is an incredibly satisfying position...much more than a job. I look forward to coming into the office every day and when the day is over, I almost always head home with a deep sense of satisfaction and, often times, a renewed sense of hope.

Hello! My name is George Brandon Muncy, but you can call me Brandon. I will be the counseling intern this summer and during the coming fall and spring semesters. I’m currently working on my MS in Counseling and hope to earn my Ed.S as well. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with people from different cultural backgrounds and worldviews to help promote positive change on a systemic and individual level, first as an anthropologist and now as a counselor. I am honored to use my knowledge and skills for the benefit of the GLBT community. My primary modalities of therapy include person centered and narrative approaches. We’re all born into a world that places challenges before us and I am here to help you navigate them. So whether you’re going through a difficult time or just need a friendly ear to help you de-stress, my door is open.
