No, you who are IU employees, cannot claim this as a paid holiday…yet, but you ARE invited to stop by our newly-renovated space at 705 E. Seventh Street on Friday, March 2 to wish Carol well and to enjoy a piece of chocolate cake. We’ll have the coffee pot full from 9am-4pm. Stop by anytime.

A new venture for the GLBT Office will be an initiative called “Project Homecoming” where glbt students and allies will contact their former high schools to address glbt student concerns and bullying, in particular. An organizational meeting has already been held and a variety of students (including the current Miss IU, Brianna McClellan) and staff have indicated an interest in this project. Some students have already contacted their former high schools. Others will be visiting them during Spring Break. A packet of resources for high schools has been compiled and is available at the GLBT Office for anyone interested in participating in this initiative, including the web page for “Teaching Tolerance” where the film “BULLIED” can be ordered at no cost. This is an ongoing project. Please spread the word. Contact the office at 812-855-4252 or email Doug at dbauder@indiana.edu
