1999 USGS National Elevation Dataset
Dataset Basics The USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED) has been developed by merging the highest-resolution, best-quality elevation data available across the United States into a seamless raster format. NED is the result of the maturation of the USGS effort to provide 1:24,000-scale Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data for the conterminous. University Information Technology Services (UITS) purchased Indiana NED for public download May 14, 2002. File FormatsThe USGS provided Indiana NED on 2 CDROMs. Data on each CDROM was converted to a tar archive and transferred to the massive data storage system. Metadata is included in each tar archive. Coordinate System: UTM NAD83
