You can earn an undergraduate minor in gerontology through the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. This minor is useful for anyone expecting to work in the health care, health promotion and fitness, or public health field. With 76 million baby boomers about to retire, almost anyone can be expecting to work with, serve, or care for someone over 65 in some way! Having a credential that says you know something about the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological aspects of aging can really boost your career, even if you are not specializing in a career in aging.
Interested in the gerontology minor? Take a look at the course requirements (http://files/Gerontology_Minor_2010_Tab_Sheet.docx), then contact Dr. Lesa Lorenzen Huber (lehuber@indiana.edu), the faculty advisor for the gerontology minor, or Paulene Hardy (pahardy@indiana.edu), the undergraduate advisor for Applied Health Science. We’re looking forward to meeting you and discussing your interest in courses in gerontology. |
