In this course we'll have a lot to say about symbols, about being symbolic, and about being "sub-symbolic." Based on whatever current understanding you have of the words symbol and symbolic (if you want, you can google these to get a better idea of how they're used by different people, but you don't have to), write a paragraph that addresses this question:
You can of course mention language in your answer, but you don't have to. Be sure to include examples for the points you make.
