Kolya

Kolya's locker is a mess.  The sixteen-year-old high school sophomore arrived from the Ukraine last year, and although his English is improving rapidly, he just can't get organized.  Kolya's notebooks are in worse shape than his locker.  Whenever Kolya picks up his binder, all the papers fall out, much to the amusement of his classmates, who have come to expect this of their lanky classmate.

In class, Kolya is very friendly.  He joins in class discussions readily.  His oral skills are impressive.  Kolya has problems, however, when he needs to write a report.  He tends to ramble.  His ideas are diffuse -- they are scattered to the extent that his arguments are impossible to follow.  As a result, while Kolya scores well in class participation, his written work is dismal!.  Multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank tests are fine for him, but if he needs to write an essay, Kolya is doomed!
