New Business

Bill to Give Money to ISA
A bill from the Indian Student Association was presented. They were looking to have a high-quality Diwali event this year. The request was made for $450. This Association was denied a CASI grant, as they did not have enough events in their application. Proxy Kraios motioned to decrease the amount to $300. Governor Becky Lewis seconded that motion. Governor Jenny Reto called the amendment to question and received a second from Governor Lewis. The amendment passed 3-0-0. The bill itself was then called to question. It passed 3-0-0, granting the Indian Student Association $300.
Bill for Parent's Weekend Cookout
Foster Student Government was requesting $200 for a Parent's Weekend Cookout. This bill was passed 3-0-0.

Executive Reports

President
President Erin Ransford reported that the Homecoming Float and Foster Fest both went well. There will be no darkroom available this year. Community Council has been discussing the recycling problems. They also voted to have all of Foster non-smoking and open visitation. There will also be two Co-op floors and two Residential Scholars floors. Foster Student Government now has a dry-erase board in the office.

Programming Vice President
Programming Vice President Chrissi Cooper reported that the Foster Activities Chair position is open and that there will be a programmers meeting next week
Financial Vice President
Financial Vice President Casey Ash handed out a budget update report
Communications Vice President
Communications Vice President Michelle Noyer reported that the web page index is up. The address is www.indiana.edu/~fostrgov
Community Involvement Director
Community Involvement Director Bridget McBride reported that the Harmony race had been that day. November 11th is a workday at the school. She will get information out later
Campus Involvement Director
Campus Involvement Director Kirti Modi reported that she is getting a coach for the Little 500 teams. There was an IU Sing meeting. Posters need to go to Advisor Purnell if they need to be put up by RA's. The Act pictures will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2000 at 8 pm in the lobby of the MAC. Normally there are 20-40 people in the picture.

Executive Assistant
Executive Assistant Rebecca McCasland reported that the minutes are coming out in email form.
Environmental Director
Environmental Director Laura Edwards reported that the previous Thursday she received a series of forwarded emails that her RHA contact, Ryan, had sent that Tim and others had been discussing the removal of the recycling bins. It has been used as a trash dumpster for Jenkinson because they have no trash rooms. Director Edwards was not informed of the situation. She met with Ryan and Tim. The bins will be moved near the Shea bins, as residents do not use those. The Shea recycling bin was full of acidic water and needed to be cleaned. These bins were cleaned and then contaminated the next day. Cardboard is the only thing being successfully recycled. Director Edwards has made flyers and will attend Community Council. She has begun an emergency awareness program. The goal is the have the recycling program running and functional by next semester. Now is the right time to begin educating residents

The Lower Harper Governor was absent from the meeting.
Upper Harper
There is currently no Upper Harper Governor.
Shea
The Proxy from Shea, Mike Kraios, reported that Foster Student Government owes Shea $100 for casino night. Vice President Ash needs to receive a bill for this to be paid.
Martin
Martin Governor Becky Lewis had nothing to report.
Magee
Magee Governor Chetan Sampat was absent from the meeting, but Vice President Kurzawinski reported that screens are not yet in the windows. Advisor Purnell said that this was because the screens ordered do not fit the windows.
Jenkinson
Jenkinson Governor Jenny Reto reported that some screens are also missing in Jenkinson.

Advisor LaTanya Purnell reported that she is getting mugs for all Foster residents that are good for discounts on refills and drinks at Gresham.

Advisor Matt Hottell reported that all Board of Governors members were invited to the Magee party.
