Folklore and Ethnomusicology Multimedia Collection
The list as a whole is grouped in several categories, each according to its history or purpose within the Folklore and Ethnomusicology Multimedia Collection. With a few exceptions (such as unclassified items, some folklore on video additions, etc.) each individual collection is arranged chronologically.
Folklore on Video (Documentaries)
Consists of folklore on video produced and accumulated since the mid-seventies by students and faculty of the department - this collection is designed primarily as a teaching resource.

Department Events
These items depict end-of-semester and end-of-year celebrations, retirment parties, and so forth, events that figure prominently in the history of the department. Highlights include student skits and roasts; a roundtable on "The Public Presentation of Art;" footage from the Ghost Walk organized by Ruth Aten in the early 2000s; and a video recording of Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett's chat with students in 2011.

SAVAIL Collection
A mix of accumulated departmental media once housed by SAVAIL. Items are labeled numerically and prefaced by an S to represent SAVAIL. A separate column names the diverse formats that came over from the SAVAIL lab (8 mm video, mini digital video cassettes, CDs/CD-ROMs, tape reels, floppy disks, and analog tape cassettes). These materials were added in 2011.
The SAVAIL Collection features lectures by our own professors and students as well as by visiting scholars; conference and symposia proceedings; field recordings of our students and faculty; recordings of faculty meetings, workshops, and colloquia; class exercises; and some departmental social events.
