A Weekend with Friends

Nov 1, 2005

Allison, me and Jaci.
It has been a pretty good week. Rachel’s birthday was on Tuesday and Jaci’s is Thursday, so there’s been lots of getting ready to celebrate for them. I think we are all going to go out to Cheeseburger Paradise on Friday night, which should be lots of fun. I’ve already given them both their presents: I helped pay for Jaci to have her bellybutton pierced because she’s been wanting that for a while and got Rachel an earring holder and a pair of earrings from Urban Outfitters.

My friend Laura came into town on Saturday. It was actually like a little reunion because I met up with Laura and Allison, who also goes here, and we had all gone to Montessori school and also high school together. My parents were stopping by town too, so we all went out to dinner. It was kind of odd that Laura was here just because I haven’t seen her in so long, and we don’t talk as much as we used to. It turned out that she hung out with me the whole night because Allison had a date and didn’t get back until late. There was a party at a fraternity so we went there, but Laura is not at all the type of girl that would go to a fraternity party. I asked her about it later, and she said it was weird because her school, Oberlin, is so liberal that she is not used to hanging out with people like that. It worked out well though because we ended up picking my sister up from the bars with some of her friends and that was funny. We also took some of her friends home and hung out with them, and I think Laura liked that a lot more. It was much more relaxed.
