Welcome!!!!
IU Essence was founded in 1995 by Taprena Augustine. It was
the first and only African American hip-hop dance group on the Indiana
University campus. It was created to give women who have never had dance
training, a chance to express themselves through hip hop dance. Today, Essence
strives to keep the traditions in which it was founded alive.
We hope that you enjoy visiting our site!
