Courses :: CULS C701 Topic: The Anthropology of Tourism

This course will explore the social, economic, political and aesthetic
aspects of tourism from an anthropological perspective. It will focus
on the sites of tourism (theme parks, heritage travel, eco-tourism,
cultural villages) as well as the players (tourists, guides, cultural
brokers), the objects (souvenirs), and the performances that
characterize the tourist experience. This course will be conducted as
a seminar. Short papers and class presentations will be required
