The IU High School Summer Dance Intensive is carefully designed to give students grades 9-12 the experience of studying dance at the University. Students live in IU dormitories and are supervised twenty four hours a day by professional Resident Advisors (RA’s).  Outside activities are planned to expose enrolled students to the rich campus and community resources at IU Bloomington. Students are housed in their own section of a university residence hall on the Bloomington campus. Male and female students will be housed on separate floors of this residence. A Culminating Studio Showcase will take place on the final day for family and friends, Friday, July 22, at 3:30pm. Registration Fees: Tuition, including housing and meals is $1,700.


UPDATED LIST OF 2016 FACULTY, DAILY and WEEKLY SCHEDULE will be posted by June 27, 2016.

Deadline for submission of application is June 1, 2016. Space is limited. Register early to save your spot.

To submit an application for the intensive, you must:
1. Complete the online registration and pay the application fee at: IU Conferences.
    - Upload to Please include dancer’s full name and confirmation code from IU Conferences registration.
         a. 30 second clip of applicant dancing (in a class or performance, any dance style or technique is fine).   
         b. a letter of recommendation from a dance teacher, rehearsal director, or coach attesting to dance experience and technical level.

You will receive a confirmation email from IU Conferences and from once you have submitted your application materials. Notification about acceptance to the program will be sent on the first and fifteenth of the month starting in February 2016 through July1.

Finally, if your dancer is accepted in to the program Download the required PDF forms:
  1. Medical Consent form
  2. Confidential health history questionnaire
  3. Photo & Video consent form
Parent or legal guardian must fill them out and bring them to registration or send in advance via email to or regular mail to: HS Dance Summer Intensive, 275 N. Jordan Avenue, Bloomington, IN. 47405-1101, must be received by July 10, 2016.
