Science Cafe was founded as part of an effort to bridge the growing gap between scientists and the lay public. Started in the UK, it involved scientists speaking at local venues - coffee houses and pubs - about science-related topics. There are now dozens (hundreds?) of Science Cafes around the world, including here in Bloomington.
