| Chinese
Performance Night
The
Chinese program held a Chinese Performance Night every year between 1995
and 1998. It was a tradition that we bring students of all levels
together and faculty members from the EALC department to celebrate a year's
hard work and tremendous progress. This event was promoted with a
belief that language learning was not just a classroom fair. Our
students could and would use Chinese in their daily life, which included
the most challenging task--life performance in front of a wide range of
audiences.
The
event took about three hours on Friday or Saturday evening in mid/late
April (one hour-reception and two hour-performances). It included
performances of skits, stories and songs by students of all levels in the
Chinese program at IU. There were prizes awarded to top performances
and refreshments provided at the reception before the performance.
It was a great cultural experience faculty and students did not want to
miss.
