C472 OFFICE HOURS, CONTACT WITH THE INSTRUCTOR AND GA, etc.

In addition to being the instructor for C472, I am also the Head of the Indiana University Chemistry Library, Coordinator of the IUB Science libraries, and Director of the Programs in Bioinformatics and Chemical Informatics. Therefore, office hours are difficult to establish for the course. In general, except for scheduled meetings, I am in the Chemistry Library Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. On Wednesdays, I work at the Chemistry Library 1:00-7:00 PM. Please send e-mail to WIGGINS or call at 812-855-9452 if you want to talk, make an appointment, or correspond. It is usually o.k. to contact me any time I am in the Chemistry Library without making an appointment.

The Computer Laboratory (CH006) and the Chemistry Resources Center (CH046) are open the same hours as the Chemistry Library, except that they are locked 15 minutes before the library is closed. If you encounter problems with the computers in those rooms, contact the Undergraduate Office. In addition, we now have 9 computers in the Chemistry Library which you may use for C472 assignments.

Electronic mail will be used to leave tips about the exercises or to share information on points which were found not to have been covered thoroughly enough in the lecture. Be sure to check your e-mail regularly. You can use direct e-mail to communicate with the instructor (wiggins@indiana.edu) or the GA (wshreve@indiana.edu).

We prefer that you limit your questions about C472 to me or the GA. The other full-time staff and the part-time student workers in the Chemistry Library have little or nothing to do with C472. If possible, do your work in the Computer Laboratory (CH006) or Chemistry Resources Center (CH046) or at UITS Public Computing Clusters.
