POLICY WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS
CAGS sponsors worskhops and seminars that bring leading experts to Indiana University to discuss and debate pressing policy issues in U.S. and global security. CAGS produces concise reports of these policy workshops and seminars to capture the ideas and issues debated and to elucidate policy choices decisions makers face. These summary reports are disseminated widely through the CAGS network in order to contribute to the larger policy debates underway on these issues. To date, CAGS has sponsored the following policy workshops and seminars:
In October 2009, CAGS and the India Studies Program sponsored a policy seminar on "The Future of Nuclear Weapons." This policy seminar focused on the implications for nuclear weapons strategies and policies of President Barack Obama's vision of a world without nuclear weapons. The Future of Nuclear Weapons may be downloaded here.
In January 2008, CAGS sponsored a policy workshop on U.S. relations with Pakistan to explore the future of U.S. relations with Pakistan. In March 2008, CAGS produced a policy report from the proceedings of the workshop, which it circulated in the United States and abroad. The IU press release on this report can be found at http://newsinfo.iu.edu/news/page/normal/7723.html.
