George Hill

I am George E. Hill and was raised in rual Southern Indiana in Scott County, 30 miles north of Louisville, KY. After completing high school I completed my BA in sociology at the University of Cincinnati, was commissioned into the US Air Force where I served for 8 years at various locations and completed my MA in Guidance and Counseling at St. Marys University in San Antonio, Texas, while at my last Air Force duty station.

I accepted a position, 29 years ago in 1976, with Southern Indiana Mental Health & Guidance Center in Jeffersonville, IN which is now known as LifeSpring, Inc. Also, I joined the Kentucky Air National Guard,in 1977,where I served as the Chief of Social Actions for 16 years prior to retiring in 1992. At LifeSpring, Inc. I have served as a psychotherapist, Scott County Area Office Manager, Director of Consultation & Education, Director of Performance Improvement, Associate Center Director and currently as Vice President of Gerontology & Special Projects.

For the IN Council of Community Mental Health Center's (ICCMHC), I serve as the Older Adults Services Committee, Chair. The ICCMHC is a statewide organization that repersents the 31 Mental Health Centers in the state and are the primary service provider to citizens that are low income. Additionally, I am a member of the the IN Mental Health Association's Mental Health and Aging Coalition, and the South East Regional FSSA
Streering Group.
