EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Length of the Program 24-month, full-time, day program.

Structure of the Program The prerequisites may be taken on a part-time basis; the professional program is presented in a full-time, day format with some evening and weekend hours.

Design of the Professional Curriculum The curriculum follows a pattern designed to educate the radiographer to become adept in the performance of any technical-medical diagnostic radiologic procedure. Courses in radiologic principles, radiographic procedure, clinical application of theory, and general education are included in the curriculum.

Cost of the program including prerequisite courses is approximately $8,400.00. This amount does not include program-related expenses such as books, lab fees, etc. or out of pocket expenses for uniforms, etc.

Program Facilities The IUSB Radiography Program is located in Northside Hall at 1700 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Prerequisite and didactic professional courses are offered on campus at various locations.

Location of Clinical Sites Clinical experiences occur in local hospitals, including Memorial Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Plaza, Saint Joseph’s Community Hospital of Mishawaka, and Goshen General Hospital.

Feasibility of Students Having a Part-time Job The structure of the work load, particularly with the prerequisites taken prior to the clinical portion of the program, allows a student to maintain employment on a part-time basis.

Accreditation The Radiography Program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
