Message from The Colonel
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Greetings from B'Town!
Our Indiana Hoosiers take to the turf at The Rock one final time this season for the annual Old Oaken Bucket game vs. Purdue. Kickoff is set for 3:30, with the Walk to The Rock happening around 1:15 p.m.
Although this season has not turned out exactly as planned for the football team, we have been VERY happy with the development of the Marching Hundred. Starting the year with over half of the band new, we are very pleased and excited about the progress the band has made, both on and off the field.
This week's show was written by Associate Instructor Matt Holzner. With a Western Theme, we'll be presenting the "Western Medley," the "Hoosier Two-Step" and the theme from "Blazing Saddles". As we do each and every year, we'll also be honoring our 4th, 5th, and 6th year band members. These students have put in literally thousands of hours and should be complimented on their work ethic, dedication, determination, and ability to have fun!!
This week will be the last opportunity to purchase Marching Hundred Gear in person - see the tables in the Fieldhouse at 1:30 p.m. and then again after the game. You can always order Hundred Gear on our website: www.marchinghundredgear.com.
Look for one final newsletter next week, highlighting our season and providing special thanks to all of those who have helped the group throughout the season.
We hope to see you this weekend as the Hoosiers work towards ownership of the Old Oaken Bucket!
