Intercollegiate Band

The North Central Division of CBDNA is calling on its members to provide student musicians for the 2003 North Central Intercollegiate Honor Band, which will rehearse and perform at the North Central Convention, an event scheduled for 19-21 February 2004 at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. College band directors from the North Central Division (large and small colleges) are invited to nominate up to four students to be considered for membership in this ensemble.

This year's conductor will be Paula Holcomb, Director of Bands at the State University of New York College at Fredonia. A student of John P. Paynter at Northwestern University, Dr. Holcomb has served as adjudicator and guest conductor of ensembles in 41 states, Mexico, Europe, Australia, South America and Canada. We are thrilled that she will be leading the Intercollegiate Honor Band this year!

Click here for the general information sheet and here for the application form (both are pdf files which require Adobe Acrobat).

Applications are due Wednesday, November 26.

We hope to have the notification of the Honor Band membership sent to directors by December 5.

This is the third consecutive North Central Meeting to be featuring its own intercollegiate band. It should be a great experience for the students and we hope that you will consider sending us your best!.

Sincerely,
Dane Heuchemer
