In electronic games, netArt, responsive environments, VR, museum exhibits, and art installations sound can be used in a variety of ways. Whether it is to simply set a mood or act as an immersive and fully adaptive dimension of a larger work, sound provides an additional channel for communication and expression.
This project asks you to create an original work in which sound is a significant component. Use sound to convey a sense of state, situation, or presence relative to one's interactions with a device, interface, or environment.
The scope of the project is not specifically set, but you are expected to do something that you can finish in the allotted time. "Studies" or smaller projects are encouraged. These are usually manageable in a few weeks and allow you to experiment with core ideas that may be used later in a larger work.
