Congratulations to Al and Guangguo! (3/10)
Their manuscript titled "Simplifying Pyridoxal: Practical Methods for Amino Acid Dynamic Kinetic Resolution" has just been accepted to Org. Lett.
Two new C500 Students join the lab (10/10)
The group proudly welcomes Alyssa Pirinelli and Roshan Lamichhane into the Laboratoy for a 7-month rotation.
Aron Lab Space Expands (10/09)
Due to the rapid expansion of the Aron Lab, we have absorded the adjoining research space, give us 4 additional hoods and benches
C500 Students join the lab (10/09)
The group proudly welcomes Bram Verdoes and Zach Poulos into the Lab. Bram is joining us to work on a methodology to induce umpolung reactivity in the Diels-Alder Reactions. Zach is excited to help us develop a new asymmetric synthesis of fluorescent poly-aza cationic helicenes, with interesting applications in materials science.
The Aron group works on developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods for the synthesis of complex molecules through a combination of biomimetic catalysis and directed biosynthesis. Using a combination of organocatalytic development, mechanistic enzymology, enzymes engineering and total synthesis, we are creating new methods for generating antibiotics, anticancer agents and immunosuppressants (among many others).
