The
Indiana Dictionary Database (IDD)
The Browse Screen gives the user a
condensed view of the most useful information for a
given entry, as well as several searching tools.
The "Search for" box can
be used to scroll through the dictionary by either the
English Index Word, or the Indian Entry Form. The Query
utility locates all entries satisfying the criteria
that the user specifies, for example, all entries of
the grammatical class "adverb" that contain
the word "hill" in the gloss. The eight buttons
on the right side of the screen are also navigational
tools. The user can move to the top or bottom of the
list, up or down one entry, make a big jump up or down,
or move by alphabetic sections.
