S319 Instructions for using Excel Macros
D. Kewley-Port 2/2/09

In order to use the macro buttons developed for S319 in the Excel spreadsheets, special steps need to be taken.

In Excel 2003:

When opening a S319 spreadsheet with macros, a small window will pop up and ask if you want to "enable macros". Indicate yes, and close the windows.

In Excel 2007:

In the STC clusters running Vista,

  1. Open the spreadsheet with the macro (ex., Proj1temp.xls)
  2. Note a new task bar above the spreadsheet: "Security Warning Macros have been disabled Options..."
  3. Press the options button. A window opens. Select the radio button labeled: "Enable this content"
  4. Done, but you need to do this each time you open the spreadsheet.

If running XP, the following steps must be taken with Excel open, but not the spreadsheet with the macros. Close that file first.

  1. Click on the Microsoft Office Button (upper left window)
  2. Click on "Excel Options button at bottom of window
  3. Click on Trust Center on left navigation bar
  4. Click on "Trust Center Settings", far right, lower part window
  5. Click on Macro Settings in left navigation bar
  6. Click Enable all macros (ignor warning)
  7. Click OK two times to close windows.

This setup only has to be done once on a computer between restarts (every time on STC machine).
